1. MONDAY¹ ROBERSHAW was born Abt. 1836 in France. He married SARA ROUSE Abt. June 1870 in Cornwall, Cherokee Co. Alabama, daughter of JOHN ROUSE and FRANCES SANFORD. She was born December 07, 1851 in Harralson Co. Georgia, and died March 08, 1920 in Cherokee Co. Alabama.

Notes for MONDAY ROBERSHAW:

Monday Robershaw according to all the census's his children filled out, was from France. On the 1870 census in Cherokee Co. Alabama, he was boarding with the Rouse Family and his name was Monday Robershaw and he was from France and spoke French! He was working on the railroad. Later that year the Rouse Family was recorded on the Polk County Georgia census. However Monday and Sara were not there? It is my belief, that they stayed in Cherokee, Alabama. Apparently he took quiet a bit of kidding about the name Monday! Later he apparently was going by Robert Robershaw, on the death certificate for his daughter Sara Aliss Hudgins. Bose Hudgins put down her Fathers name was Robert Robbashaw? Part of the confusion about his name, came about, I believe because a lot of the Family members couldn't read or write. Anyhow Monday was quiet a poplar name during that time frame, on the 1880 census in Georgia, there were 88 men with the name Monday, and that does not include the ones that spelled their names Mundy!!

Note: There was a Sara and Mundy Robertson on the 1870 Census for Polk County Georgia; Sara was 18, Mundy was 25 and was from England? If this was the same couple as Monday Robershaw and Sara Rouse above, someone gave the Census taker false information. Monday Robershaw was 34 years old and was from France. His son William Wesley Robershaw filled out 4 Census reports: 1900-1910-1920-and 1930 saying his Father was from France and on the 1910 Census showed Monday Robershaw spoke French!!

William Wesley Robershaw worked in lumber mills, cotton mills, and was working as a teamster for Alabama City in 1930. The Robershaw Family was living in a area of Etowah Co, Alabama called Clear Creek in 1936 when Grandfather Robershaw came in from working in the field, complained about being tired and fell across the bed dead! There was some conjecture that gangrene had infected a cut on his leg causing and apparent heart attack!

William Zelton Robershaw was a typical hard worker, he worked in several cotton mills in the Etowah County until about 1947, when he moved the Family to the farm in the Walnut Grove area. I will always remember him on the farm, and the times my Dad & and I would spend the day hunting rabbits with his son Ralph and the black hounds he was so proud of ! Afterward he would send us home with a bag of vegetables from the garden. He like his brother A G was also a Baptist Minister.

In 1920 Lester was Working in the cotton mill in Alabama City, In 1930 he was working in the steel plant, he worked there for most of his life until he was injured!! After that he farmed for several years and also worked for a saw mill co. He had a serious stroke paralyzing his side, arm, it also affected his speech, several years before he passed away.

O B Robershaw had several occupations, he worked clearing wood in the Cherokee Basin after he was first married, later he worked in cotton mills, steel mills, saw mills, and the shell plant during the war years, then he went back to his first love running a stone quarry! He furnished the stone and contracted the first phase of the Park [ Noccalula Falls ] He was in the masonry industry until he retired at the age of 65.

Her survivors include her daughters, Rebecca Brasher (Kevin), Rena Harris (JR) and Kay Anthony (Jeff); son, Charles Robershaw (Barbara); sister, Mable Harbaugh (Russell); 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Reginald joined the Navy in 1948, to keep from being drafted into the Army! He was sent to San Diego, California for basic training and when they found out he could type, he spent the whole four years there without having any sea duty! We came out {the rest of family} in 1951 for a visit, not knowing that in a few more years Mom & Dad would move the family to San Diego. He recalls that when he was a child visiting our Grandmother Love in Lafayette, Al. that we went to the local movie theater and the news reel had a highlight on one of the very first computers!! Burial is in Military Baptist Church Cemetery with military rites performed by the VFW Post No. 3036 Honor Guard.

Mr. Martin was a Baptist and Methodist minister for more than 20 years, journeyman bricklayer, master mason in construction and church builder in California and Mississippi. He served in the U.S. Army.

Robert D. Salers, Sr., of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2015. He was born August 22, 1960 to Elizabeth Ann Salers and the late Robert Edward Salers. He was a label operator for Vestcom. He loved to read and play video games.

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Brittney Givens.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Maria Salers; daughters: Regina Givens (Aaron) of Florissant, Missouri; Robin Roberts (James) of Little Rock; son: Robert D. Salers, Jr. (Cynthia) of Little Rock; grandchildren: Aaron Givens IV, Moses Givens, Myriam Givens, Brooklyn Salers, Andrew Roberts; mother: Elizabeth Ann Salers; sister: Laura Seals (Tim); brothers: James Salers (Joan); William Salers (Angie) all of Alabama.

William Robershaw, 60 08/04/1948 - 04/18/2009 OCEANSIDE -- Bill Robershaw left this life unexpectedly and far too soon for those who knew and loved him. Bill was a California native having grown up in and around Los Angeles. Bill graduated from University High School in 1967 and extended the 1967 "Summer of Love" to a lifetime of love for family and friends. Bill moved to coastal Oceanside in 1986 where he set down roots and raised his family in an easy beach lifestyle. Bill was a fun, and fun loving man of many interests, a craftsman who turned houses into homes, a surfer who glided across waves with ‚lan and style, a wine connoisseur who knew that any bottle of wine shared with a friend was a great bottle, a music impresario who enjoyed any music as long as it was played with spirit, or by family or friends. Bill had the gift of gab and made every conversation on any topic a memorable one. He had a quick wit and a quicker smile. He was a genuinely kind person, without pretense or a need to impress, yet he was impressive in his character and his kindness to others. Bill loved the beach and the sun, but the sun did not like Bill's Irish skin. His freckles and sunspots were only outnumbered by the multitudes of people he counted as friends. Whether Bill met you today, or had not seen you in years, his smile let you know his friendship was always true. Such was the case when Bill met his beloved wife, Susan, over 38 years ago, and they determined to be inseparable every since. Bill and Susan were friends, companions, lovers of each other and of life. Individually, and as a couple, they could light up any room they entered just as Bill and Susan entered and lit up one another's lives and hearts 38 years ago, a light that never dimmed. Bill was a great father to his sons, Ryan and Jonathan. He was involved in every part of their lives; surfing, camping, baseball, school, sports and music were shared and memories made that will sustain Ryan and Jonathan for a lifetime. Ryan and Jonathan share the smile, kindness to others and lust for life that was Bill. To see Ryan and Jonathan is to see their father. Through his love and attention, Bill made his sons into truly good men. Ryan and Jonathan are Bill's legacy. Bill leaves behind his beloved wife Susan; sons, Ryan and Jonathan; daughter-in-law, Jessica; mother in law, Mikki Tuggey; and of course, his dog, Joey. Bill's family growing up was a medley of people who were part of Bill's life and made him treasure family above all else. Bill was part of a blended family that gave him the gift of brothers and sisters that he treasured throughout his life. Bill also leaves behind brothers, Lee, Larry, Michael and David; sisters, Lynn, Kim, and Rachael; and so very many friends, and extended family too numerous to mention, but all of whom were all touched by Bill's friendship, love and kindness.Bill Robershaw lived his life with joy, bringing joy to others in the process. Below was what I wrote to Jack Jr. after me sent me a picture of himself fishing!!

Did I ever tell you the story about your Dad and ocean fishing? If not

this is true. My dad and his partner Homer Wright decided to take all

the boys ocean fishing in Florida!! I was left home ( I was to young?)

I think they didn't have room for me in the car. They drove from

Gadsden, AL to Florida and back in a car!! Anyhow it must have been a

bad experience for Jack? He was visiting me in CA around Christmas

time one year and a sales rep. from the material company wanted to

take me ocean fishing off the coast of San Diego at La Jolla, the

local fishing hot spot. Well your Dad didn't want to go with us, he

hated ocean fishing? Anyhow since it was free and everything included,

he decided to go with us. Since it was winter they had called for

rain, we got that morning(early) and went down to the chartered boat

and only about 10 people showed up including us. The weather was

beautiful, no rain and warm. It was just one of those days, we hit a

bubble of fish. I think you could have dropped a bare hook and caught

a fish. All the deck hands and the captain was fishing! We caught so

many fish the Captain said we had caught our limit and moved the boat

else where. Afterwards Jack told me a neighbor had begged him several

times to go deep sea fishing and he always told him no!! He hated deep
