Thanks so much for sending me all the pics. This sure brings back a lot of good memories. The picture of what was the first library in Al. was bought by a Mrs. Hamil and she made it a daycare. Do you remember when it was the daycare? Myself and 2 of my brothers stayed at it  when Mother and Daddy worked at the mill, when I was about 4 yrs. of age. I have a copy of the picture of all the kids that attended when I did. Mrs. Hamil's son, Doug who is in it attended school with me thru all 12 yrs. I knew Doug at school, but did not know his Mother owned the daycare and did not know we went to the daycare at same time, until 1999 when I was visiting Gadsden and found a lot of info at the Gadsden library, and also got copies of a lot of pics at Scarborough's shop. One of my brothers learned Mr. Scarborough had a lot of our old family photos, so I went over and made copies. I then called Doug Hamil and talked to him about the daycare. At that time His Mother was still living, age was 94. He gave me her address but I never made it by to see her, wish I had.  I thought you might know some of the other kids in this pics.

Thanks again. Alice Galbreath Swelling
